Lecture: Corrosion and Corrosion Claims

Responsible lecturer: Dr. Ute Bergmann

Semester: Summer Semester

Capacity: 6 students

Registration for Czech students: via e-mail to matun@ujep.cz

Time and Place, preliminary: Wednesday, 16:40 – 18:10, online

Lab course: 08.04.2025, presence, Berndt-Bau, TU Dresden (Helmholtzstraße 7, 01069 Dresden)

The central topics of the lecture are electrochemical principles and measurement methods of corrosion as well as an overview to corrosion prevention methods. This includes:

  • – Basics of corrosion elements
  • – Methods for the determination of corrosion rates
  • – Initiation of Crevice corrosion
  • – Efficacy of corrosion protection – determined with Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy
