Due to a lack of resources, the consideration of ergonomics in the development of machines and plants is still given too little attention in small and medium-sized enterprises. By means of a VR-assistance a cost-efficient and fast ergonomics assessment shall be made available, which only needs common CAD-data files as input data.
Based on the CAD model of a machine or plant, the designer can evaluate the ergonomics in virtual space. The VR Ergonomics Assistance provides valuable design information by visualizing standard-compliant visual spaces and gripping spaces and supporting the designer with messages and suggestions.
